A basic set of braces is comprised of metal brackets, archwires, and rubber bands. First we attach the metal brackets on the front of each tooth, then place the archwires on top of the brackets. Rubber bands are then attached to hooks on the brackets, and their elastic energy shifts the currently misaligned teeth into a desired alignment.
Braces may present a significant aesthetic concern though (especially for children and teenagers), and your dental needs may vary depending on the severity of your alignment.
While we do offer a variety of options, currently we do not offer lingual braces at this time. Lingual braces are attached on the back of each tooth, which hide the brackets behind your teeth. The primary appeal of lingual braces is that no one can see them, so if this factor interests you, please consider our Ceramic Braces/Clear Brackets and Aligners, both of which offer the same benefit of invisibility.
